AN/TPQ-50 Multi-Mission Radar

SRC's AN/TPQ-50 multi-mission radar gives warfighters 360 degree surveillance and 3-D target location capabilities against any adversary, anytime, anywhere.

Using a non-rotating, electronically steered antenna, the ruggedized AN/TPQ-50 radar contains few moving parts, is vehicle mountable and can be configured for fixed site emplacement in hard to reach areas where typical radars are impractical. The AN/TPQ-50 is a trusted U.S. Army program of record. The radar can be configured for various mission modes:

Multi-Mission Mode

As a multi-mission radar, the radar performs both weapons location and air surveillance missions simultaneously. It supports a 700 square kilometer surveillance area, including: early warning for indirect fire, counterfire target acquisition (CTA), air surveillance and counter-UAS missions.

Weapons Location Mode

With SRC's Lightweight Counter-Mortar Radar (LCMR) software, the AN/TPQ-50 is the most capable counter rocket, artillery and mortar (C-RAM) radar in its class. It detects, tracks, classifies and warns of incoming RAM threats while determining point of origin (POO) and point of impact (POI) locations. The system can track multiple weapons simultaneously and has a detection range of up to 15 kilometers, and a point of origin accuracy of 50 meters at 10 kilometers. Today, more than 1,000 AN/TPQ-50 and predecessor systems with LCMR software have been procured by the U.S. and its allies, making it the most widely fielded counterfire radar in the world.

Air Surveillance Mode

With SRC's airsurveillance software, the AN/TPQ-50 radar can detect and track a wide range of traditional and non-traditional aircraft, including small UAS, with an instrumented range of more than 35 kilometers. The air surveillance software extends the radar coverage volume by employing air surveillance specific waveforms tailored to airspace monitoring. This capability makes the system an ideal solution for V-SHORAD, counter-UAS and ground-based sense and avoid (GBSAA) systems.
