SRC Receives Additional Orders for SR Hawk Radars to Support Expanded U.S. Border Surveillance Operations

More than 150 SR Hawk radar systems ordered to support autonomous surveillance missions along the southern border

Key Highlights

  • Hundreds of SR Hawk radar systems to support expanded southern border surveillance operations
  • Systems support autonomous surveillance technologies, artificial intelligence-enabled systems and layered sensor networks
  • Provides continuous 360-degree surveillance with the ability to detect personnel, vehicles, and marine vessels, across remote and complex terrain environments

Syracuse, NY – SRC Inc., a global, not-for-profit, defense research and development company, today announced that additional SR Hawk™ radar systems have been ordered to support autonomous surveillance operations along the southern border.

The radar systems are being procured by multiple prime contractors supporting advanced border surveillance technologies for both mobile and fixed-site operational deployments. The systems are designed to enhance situational awareness and support persistent monitoring operations across remote and complex terrain environments.

The deployments support ongoing efforts by the Trump administration to modernize border security infrastructure through the use of autonomous surveillance technologies, artificial intelligence-enabled systems and layered sensor networks.

"Securing the border requires advanced sensing technologies capable of delivering persistent situational awareness across large and often challenging operational environments," said Kevin Hair, president and CEO of SRC. "SR Hawk was designed to provide highly reliable detection and tracking capabilities in support of mobile and fixed surveillance missions where operators need actionable information in real time. These additional orders reflect the growing need for scalable surveillance technologies capable of supporting evolving homeland security missions."

The SR Hawk ground surveillance radar provides continuous 360-degree surveillance of ground environments, ports and harbors, and low-altitude airspace in a single integrated system. The radar is capable of detecting personnel, land vehicles, and marine vessels, operating in complex environments.

Designed as a small, lightweight and portable platform, SR Hawk supports tower, vehicle-mounted and tripod deployment configurations, allowing operators to rapidly establish surveillance coverage across a wide range of mission environments. Advanced anti-clutter processing, automated target tracking and electro-optical/infrared camera cueing capabilities help operators quickly identify and respond to potential threats while minimizing false alarms. To date, more than 700 SR Hawk radars have been deployed around the world.

SRC has decades of experience developing advanced radar, electronic warfare and counter-UAS technologies supporting U.S. defense and homeland security missions.
