SRC Demonstrates Autonomous Sensing and Edge-Processing Software at TechID Day 2026

Company highlights innovation in edge computing, autonomy and small form factor mission systems supporting the evolving operational landscape

Syracuse, NY – SRC Inc., a global, not-for-profit, defense research and development company, today announced its recent participation in TechID Day 2026, an invite-only industry and government event focused on identifying next-generation capabilities supporting Special Operations Forces (SOF), Space and Cyber mission integration.

During the event, SRC showcased novel system-of-systems solutions that demonstrated innovative onboard object detection, classification, and autonomous mission coordination using advanced low SWaP hardware—both compute and sensing—integrated onto small unmanned systems. The demonstration highlighted how compact, software-driven technologies can enable distributed sensing, operational awareness and autonomous mission execution at the tactical edge while minimizing logistical burden and hardware requirements.

The technologies demonstrated focused on the use of modular edge-processing architectures capable of supporting autonomous mission functions and real-time operational awareness across distributed environments. The effort reflects SRC's broader expansion into software-defined, autonomy-enabled and small form factor mission systems designed to support evolving operational needs.

"Our presentation at Tech ID Day highlighted SRC's continued expansion into emerging areas like autonomy, edge computing and distributed mission technologies," said Kevin Hair, president and CEO of SRC. "As operational needs evolve, we are applying decades of sensing, EW and mission systems expertise to develop adaptable, low-SWaP technologies designed to support the future fight."

Hosted by Accel Innovation Corporation (AIC) and Oak Grove Technologies (OGT), TechID Day brought together industry, military leaders, government stakeholders, academia and venture capital groups to explore emerging technologies aligned with current defense operational priorities. The event focused on strengthening integration across SOF, Space and Cyber mission areas as the Department of War continues prioritizing multi-domain track and detection, and enabling affordable mass.SRC has increasingly focused development efforts around scalable, distributed and low-SWaP mission systems supporting future operational concepts across contested environments. The company's broader portfolio includes advanced radar, electronic warfare, sensing and intelligence systems supporting U.S. and allied military operations worldwide.
