Syracuse, NY – SRC, Inc. has hired Gerald “Jerry” Charlwood as assistant vice president of strategic growth to lead Air Wing of the Future efforts for manned and unmanned autonomous collaborative systems. In this role, Charlwood will develop a cohesive, data-driven strategy to deliver airborne capabilities for the Department of Defense and allied nations. "Charlwood’s extensive experience and strategic vision will be instrumental in driving SRC’s growth and innovation within the airborne capabilities domain," said Kevin Hair, president and CEO of SRC. "His leadership will ensure we continue to deliver mission-critical solutions to our military and our allies, while advancing our offerings for strategy to meet the evolving needs of the defense industry." Charlwood brings more than 38 years of leadership experience in strategic planning and execution, profit and loss, program and engineering management, capture management and business development, with a focus on system development and deployment for the military. Most recently, he served as vice president and chief technology officer at Saab Inc. and led an airborne systems initiative. He provided strategic vision for emerging organizational strategies, developing product roadmaps and long-term strategic plans across the sensor and unmanned systems portfolio. Charlwood is a recipient of numerous awards for service from industry and customer organizations to recognize outstanding leadership and performance. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
