SRC Welcomes Roger Mason and Dennis Via to the Board of Trustees

Syracuse, NY – Roger Mason and Dennis Via have been named to the SRC Board of Trustees. Retiring from the board is Tom Triscari, Jr. and Don Kerrick, both of whom have served on the board since 2006. Their departure marks the end of a long and fruitful period of service, during which they have helped guide the board through challenges and achievements alike. Their legacy will be remembered and appreciated by all who have had the privilege of working with them.

Mason currently serves as senior vice president at Parsons Corporation and has 30 years of experience in national security and intelligence. He was previously Peraton’s president of space and intelligence where he led a $2 billion business focused on national security markets. Mason served as the first Assistant Director of National Intelligence for Systems and Resource Analyses and was awarded the Intelligence Community’s highest award—the National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal. His prior executive leadership roles included senior vice president for national security and chief security officer at Noblis. Mason has extensive board experience for public, private and non-profit organizations that includes Maxar, DigitalGlobe, Capella Space and the U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Foundation where he served as Chairman. He was also a member of the National Academy of Sciences’ Intelligence Community Studies Board. Mason holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from the George Washington University, a master’s in business administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a doctorate in engineering physics from the University of Virginia.

After retiring from the U.S. Army, Via joined Booz Allen Hamilton in 2017 as an executive vice president, serving as head of corporate engagement. Via was previously an executive vice president in Booz Allen’s global defense group, leading multi-year market-driven growth strategies, planning, risk assessment and mitigation and crisis management. In his final assignment with the Army, Via led the largest global logistics enterprise in the Department of Defense. He remains the first and only Signal Corps Officer in Army history to achieve the rank of 4-star general. In addition to his seat on the SRC board, Via serves as an independent director on the board of Milliken & Company and was a former independent director on the board of Splunk, Inc. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, an executive board member at AFCEA, a senior fellow at the Association of the Army and a director on the boards of Capital Partners for Education, The Army Historical Foundation and the Virginia State University Board of Visitors. Via holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia State University and a master’s from Boston University.
