SRC's Corporate Headquarters in North Syracuse, NY Earns EPA's ENERGY STAR® Certification

Syracuse, NY – SRC, Inc.'s 120,000 square foot, two story ecofriendly headquarters in North Syracuse, NY has earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR® certification. This signifies that the building performs in the top 25 percent of similar facilities nationwide in terms of energy efficiency and meets strict standards set by the EPA.

"We are proud to have earned the EPA's ENERGY STAR® certification for our headquarters," said Paul Tremont (headshot), president and CEO of SRC. "This recognition demonstrates our continued commitment to environmental stewardship."

Buildings that earn this certification use an average of 35 percent less energy than typical buildings and release 35 percent less carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. In 2009 SRC's corporate headquarters was awarded LEED® certification, a designation established by the U.S. Green Building Council and Green Building Certification Institute. The LEED® design, construction and certification of SRC's headquarters helped to solidify the building's certification. Recent eco-friendly projects and operational enhancements vital to earning the ENERGY STAR® certification include retro-commissioning, installation of ENERGY STAR®-certified high efficiency equipment, and retrofitting parking lots and interior spaces with LED lights.
