SRC provides oral and dermal bioavailability assessments as well as chemical-specific assessments of the bioavailability for metals and metalloids, including lead and arsenic. We also research and develop animal models and bench top in vitro methods for assessing bioavailability of arsenic and lead.
SRC has supported U.S. EPA Technical Review Workgroup for Bioavailability which develops national guidance on methods for assessing site-specific bioavailability of metals and the application of bioavailability assessments in risk assessment. In addition, we have prepared over 300 assessments of bioavailability data for the EPA’s STSC and IRIS programs and the ATSDR Toxicological Profile program.
