It takes a sound mind to solve impossible problems, and at SRC we want employees who seek harmony in work and life. Mostly because the interesting projects you’ll be working on — keeping our country and environment safe — affect the lives of so many others. Just because we’re a place of business doesn’t mean we need to be all business all of the time. At SRC, we like to blur the line between work and home —offering our employees a place to work where the challenges are as great as the benefits.
We treat our employees and their families to holiday parties and company picnics. And, we encourage participation in year-round sporting events, clubs, and lunch groups to foster relationships that enhance the teamwork that is so much a part of being professional problem solvers. We offer flexibility, professional development, career satisfaction, and a family-friendly culture.
At SRC, we like our employees to hold the mindset, “If the problem isn't challenging, SRC isn't interested.” Because here, we thrive on solving “impossible” problems with people who have the intelligence, the instincts, and the drive to find the unexpected solutions our customers are looking for. We look for employees with experience, skill, and superior talent — with advanced backgrounds in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, physics, and applied math. And, it’s this kind of depth and diversity that allows us to approach each problem with a multidisciplinary team of highly skilled scientists, engineers, managers, and support staff.
Together, we work to design, simulate, and test solutions that involve real-time embedded multiprocessors, programmable Digital Signal Processors (DSP), and communications systems. At SRC, we are not afraid of a plan not working the first time — because sometimes it takes more than one idea to provide the best solution. Some of our more successful designs go into limited or full production, and will be used to keep our country and environment safe.
In addition to challenging and meaningful work, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package including three weeks or more vacation to start, 10% employer contribution for retirement, and 100% college tuition. Add in the best and brightest colleagues, state-of-the-art facilities, and family-friendly culture, and you’ll realize that this is the career you’ve been searching for.
Did you know that SRC:

The Way We Work at SRC At SRC, we work too hard for it to be unfulfilling and believe that every day should be exciting, interesting, challenging, and fun. We want employees who will wake up each morning looking forward to the day ahead, because all of us at SRC are on an adventure — one we’d like you to join.
The essence of SRC is its people. We place emphasis on our ability to successfully attract, develop, and retain the high-quality, motivated, and team-oriented staff that has been at the heart of our success.
Quality Work Requires Quality People Our professionals hold technical degrees in more than 40 different disciplines. The depth and diversity that they represent allows us to approach each problem with a multi-disciplinary team of highly skilled scientists, engineers, and managers. We emphasize the importance of providing a quality and creative workplace environment and a very lean, goal-oriented, managerial culture. In support of our people and continued organizational success, professional development is a top priority and focus at SRC.
Here are some of the reasons we think you’ll enjoy working at SRC:
- Getting to work with some really smart people
- Senior management isn’t always right, and they understand that
- Many senior managers are terrific engineers who still contribute technically
- We’re doing more than designing cool prototypes, we’re saving lives
- We continue to encourage technical diversity throughout the staff
- Everyone is treated as equals
- Where else can you get all those expense paid vacations to Yuma (a testing site in the Arizona desert)?
- We continue to work on really, really, challenging technical problems
- Fantastic lab facilities
- It’s amazing watching a small team take on a huge challenge, then succeed
- No office politics, at any level
- The staff takes on challenges and responsibilities that redefine possible®
Community Involvement Many of our employees are involved with community activities and support numerous events, including walk-a-thons, road races, bowl-a-thons, blood drives, and the United Way campaign, to name a few. These community events are an extension of the team-building approach our employees use at work.
Social Activities Employees realize the importance of working hard, but at SRC, we also encourage a balance between work and play for a healthy lifestyle. Several times a year, we hold functions, such as a holiday party and a picnic, to bring our employees and their families together on another level. In addition, year-round sporting events, clubs, and lunch groups foster an added camaraderie that enhances the teamwork that is so much a part of our professional relationships.
Casual Work Attire SRC allows employees to dress in business casual to foster a comfortable, productive atmosphere.
Philanthropy Not only are we one of the best companies to work for in CNY, we are one of the most giving.
SRC is committed to philanthropy in acknowledgement of the role it plays in fostering the growth and development of our employees, the communities where they live and work, and where SRC does business. Our focus is on education and activities related to science and technology, or efforts that support U.S. troops.
SRC will match most employee contributions in areas related to higher education (see policy for details) and to the annual United Way Campaign.
We strongly support all types of community service and volunteerism. An investment in communities where we have facilities and where we do business supports both our strategic business goals and our responsibility to be a good corporate citizen and neighbor.
Our commitment to community service and volunteerism begins at the highest levels of corporate leadership. All senior and middle management personnel are strongly encouraged to participate in at least one community-based volunteer activity of their own choosing per calendar year.
Employee Volunteer Program SRC has also established an Employee Volunteer Program called “SRC Cares.” This program is meant to raise awareness and encourage all employees to participate in community-based volunteer activities of their own choosing. SRC Cares will also be promoted as a program to recognize our employees for all they do to make the communities we live and work in better places. More details about the program can be requested from a Human Resources Representative.
Service Awards Our Service Awards, such as our Fit as a Fiddle Awards, recognize employees that have no sick hours within a full calendar year. Our years of service program recognizes employees in five-year increments for their continued dedication to SRC’s mission.
Performance Management Program At SRC, our Performance Management Program encourages managers to provide employees with a clear outline of goals and expectations so that when performance evaluations are given, feedback is both constructive and positive. Our goal is to help all employees benefit from ongoing communication with their managers with a program designed to:
- Link the work of the employee to the work of the group and the department
- Set goals so expectations are clear
- Review goals mid-year for updates, assistance, and recognition per business area preference
- Reinforce positive work habits and ethics
- Offer employees information regarding professional development
- Educate all employees to effectively participate in — and execute — our Performance Management Program, based on their individual roles
Performance Recognition Awards At SRC, we strive to redefine what's possible. So when our employees reach impossible heights and exceed expectations, we recognize them with Performance Recognition Awards.
