SRC is an independent, not-for-profit, research and development corporation chartered by the state of New York.
We were created by Syracuse University in 1957 as Syracuse University Research Corporation and then spun off from the university to become an independent organization in 1970s. We were known as Syracuse Research Corporation from that time up until 2009 when we officially changed our name to SRC, Inc.
For more than 55 years, we have supported a broad range of federal government organizations and agencies and have developed a national reputation in a wide array of technology areas. In the past 10 years, our employee count has more than doubled in size from less than 500 to more than 1,000 today. In 2006, we formed SRCTec, a high-tech manufacturing subsidiary.
